119 Braintree Street, Allston

This location has been the long-time home and hub of Allston Open Studios and has housed over 50 artists and creative small businesses for decades.

The problem: The property owners are redeveloping this and an adjoining location on Everett Street, displacing the creative community to build labs, retail, and affordable housing.

The advocacy: The #ARTSTAYSHERE Coalition has partnered with New Atlantic Development to help relocate the artist and creative small businesses tenants as a group within Boston. The owners have agreed to provide at least 4 months notice and have allotted some financial support for relocation.

The need: The ideal solution is to acquire a new space (20-35,000 square feet) that can be subdivided into individual studios/workspaces. At least 20 parking spots, an elevator, and loading dock needed.
